Indeed many of the trainees have keenly embraced the opportunity to learn in these major programs, as they would not have been able to access such quality training any other way. Wallace Marasi, one of the apprentice chefs, who went as far as primary level of education, is a great example of someone who seized that chance to be taught in Commercial Cookery course in order to become a successful chef. Each trainee now has the sense of confidence to share their well-earned knowledge with the rest of Airways staff as well as other Papua New Guineans they will meet in their future endeavors.

This is however, not the end of such training programs. There is an acute need to ensure quality training is continuously delivered to the hospitality industry if we hope to continue to increase our national tourism industry as well as job opportunities. Airways Hotel has plans to continue its collaboration with TAFE in the year 2007, and a greater emphasis will be given to providing more, improved, and diverse training programs for its staff.
